National Drink Wine Day - 18th February
72
Forget Valentine's Day, National Drink Wine Day falls on February 18th and for those wishing to celebrate it this year, that's a Friday night! What a way to celebrate the start of the weekend, but who needs an excuse.
On a recent trip to the Finger Lakes region, I had the pleasure of visiting three different wineries. This was my first wine tasting trip and it was a great experience. The wines are all on display and you walk around, read about them and then decide which ones to try. For a small fee you typically chose about 8 wines to sample. There is no obligation to buy in any of the wineries.
If I was lucky enough to be in this region on February 18th, that's how I would like to spend National Drink Wine Day. There's a great website that provides a Worldwide schedule of Wine Events. It'll give you some ideas of where you can go: http://www.localwineevents.com/events/by_date

Salute!
Wow I didn't know of this wine event and it seems I've missed it by merely a few hours!
It's interesting how wine has taken over the last several years. People need to remember it's the grape skin that is healthy, not the actual wine. I read an article reply on another site where someone was arguing the benefits of alcohol, but it's not alcohol, it's the dark grapes that make mild intake of wine "healthy," a term that should never get used for an addicting substance. And, yes, wine is addicting! I know some people don't realize that but it's true.
I guess there's a day for everything. :)
Great Read ..Thanks for sharing details
