Nalu Beads - A Surfer's Pandora

By

I never wear much jewellery; I tend to be a casual chick so I was a little different from all my friends who were flocking to buy Pandora bracelets and beads at Christmas.

If anything, I tend to wear a necklace. I was in my local surf shop one day and came across a range of Surf Beads called Nalu Beads. These take the same form as Pandora beads but have a beachy, casual look about them. They're also a third of the price. Instead of a formal silver bracelet, you buy a brown, black or white cord and tie the beads into a bracelet, necklace or anklet. There is a great selection of ways to tie the cord. Just in case you are wondering, these beads are of good quality and are nothing like cheap Pandora alternatives. They are classy and have their own style.

The beads take inspiration from the sea and are made from the Italian Murano Glass, which is famous worldwide.

Each bead has a unique name and I was delighted to see that there was a collection named after my local surf beaches, as well as beaches I'd been to on holiday. This way you can build up a selection of beads that tell the story of where you've been and where you've surfed.

You don't have to be a surfer to wear them. If you like the Pandora look, but can't afford the price or find them too formal, then check out Nalu beads. I've only got three beads in my collection but I'm looking to build on that very soon. The three beads are tied in a simple formation on the brown cord and I love to wear them to the beach or to add something special to my casual look.

Thanks Joe. I was pleased when discovered them in my local surf shop. I've got quite a few in my collection now. Got some in the names of my local breaks too which was cool.

One of the local flea markets here carries Nalu beads. They are quite lovely!

Super RedElf :) Glad you have them locally. They're so unique and great quality. I love the way they are named after surf spots. Means some beads can remind me of a holiday I've been on.
